Hello East College Park Residents,

I am the new President of the ECPCA and I am enjoying my first few months. I was a member of the association for many years and took advantage of the programs that the association has to offer.

With the deep freeze we have been experi-encing, there is no doubt that winter is upon us and I hope you are keeping warm and staying active. All of our winter program-ming is well under way with good enrolment in all areas. The biggest success that we have to report is the lights in the park are now shining brightly. Without the generous support of the community we would not have achieved this. We are planning a celebration in the near future to commemorate the lights in the park. We will announce when this will occur so that the whole community can come out to celebrate.

This cold snap has also made many of us start thinking about spring. It’s almost here! Spring registration will be held on February 11th and 13th at Roland Michener School. Please come out to register for soccer, football, and softball. Also, don't forget about our Winter Day in the Park on February 24th at the back of St. Augustine School. It will be an enjoyable time for so-cializing, drinking hot chocolate and using the outdoor rink.

We are always looking for more volunteers for the association. By this fall, several long-standing board members will be moving on to new endeavors and we will need to fill the va-cancies in order to continue serving East College Park. This type of volunteering can be espe-cially rewarding as you get to see immediate results directly in the community you live in. Please contact any member of the association for more information.

I am looking forward to an exciting winter in the community and up coming community events.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Missens

President,
